Projects

Here are some projects that we feel called to and God has filled us with a desire to see the Body of Christ in Central Wisconsin involved.

A new place to meet. One of the projects we have been working on has been renovating the side of our property that was in very rough shape when we purchased it. There is a nice sized meeting room that recovery groups will use. We also have several offices built into this space to provide us with the space needed to meet individuals to make sure as many needs are met as possible. Lastly we created a space for working out and staying in shape.

Previously we had been using the old bar as the big multipurpose space to meet many of these needs, once we have fully moved over to the newly renovated side we will see what the Lord has for the old bar side. If you have a desire to reach the community for Christ and a space in downtown Antigo is needed please reach out, we are seeking the Lord direction and asking the body of Christ to be involved with what is to come!

Update: Since 2020 we have owned the building and have been meeting the need for men’s sober living. In the old bar we host a number of recovery groups, bible studies, prayer gatherings, and community outreaches.

Pictured here is an old bar located on the southwest corner of 5th Ave. and Dorr St. in downtown Antigo. This building we have had our eyes on for several months. We have been in communication with the owner, the city inspector, and some friends of the ministry who have been in the local real estate community for decades now. We are trusting the Lord to provide the funds necessary to get us into this building. We would love to turn this into a place of Kingdom activity.

There is a very large apartment above the bar that would be ideal for Christ-centered transitional living for men. Men who are ready for their next step of independence in the recovery process. The target men for this ministry are men who already have some clean time and are already active in recovery. Men coming out of treatment or men who have been living with family or friends and are ready to begin the next step of their recovery finding independence and stability. This will be a democratic communal living environment where the men share a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room but the men will have separate rooms. They will either already be working or ready to enter the workforce. There will be a fee for living here of $200 dollars a month to begin the process of teaching independence in finances. All proceeds will stay within the ministry and will be used in meeting the mission. Men will be required to attend a set amount of recovery support groups each week, work a program of recovery, and submit random urine analyses. There will be daily engagement with prayer and scripture as Christ is the center of this ministry. We will work with nonbelievers as we believe the love of Christ will pernitrate their hearts through this process of the Church coming together to support their new start in life. We hope to see men who are leading recovery ministries in their Church partner with us in providing different studies and workshops for these men. There is no sober living for men in Langlade county and our goal is to meet this need with the love of Christ.

The bar itself has another building attached to it that used to be a dance floor, here the vision is to see several meeting rooms established for recovery support groups, prayer groups, workshops, and bibles studies. The vision for the bar itself is a vision of a clean place to have fun, a clean place to gather, a family friendly place where pool can be played, darts can be thrown, and card or board games are on the table. We also desire to see a small sound system installed for open mic night and worship gatherings. We feel that the Lord has led us to this building and we are believing that He wants this to be a place for the Body of Christ, the Church at large, and the least of these to meet. A place where Christian community is formed on a social level, in a social environment. Will you pray and dream with us?
